Pet Therapy Dog
Bodhi of the Rockies
Where are the kids?
Bodhi loves kids but doesn’t often see them since pediatrics was moved to Children’s Hospital. This boy was visiting his grandmother, and really loved hanging out with Bodhi. They both liked looking out the window at the construction!
I often get many of the same comments…how handsome Bodhi is, how calm he is, and how loving he is. And how much he has made their day. But my favorite comment today was “I am privileged that I got to meet Bodhi today.”
Bodhi’s big entrance
We walked into the waiting room and everyone (about 6 people) said “wow” all at once! They were all excited to see Bodie. I laughed and said “Wouldn’t it be great if people got that much attention and respect when we walked into a room!” They each took their turn as we walked around to greet everyone, and Bodhi helped cheer them up for a few minutes.
Up in a patient room, one couple really wanted to meet Bodhi but the nurses were doing some procedures and we had to wait. We kept going back until the nurses were done, and the couple was grateful for our persistence. They were so nice and told me about their Corgi at home that they couldn’t sneak in, so they enjoyed petting Bodhi for a long time. Bodhi laid down for quite a while as we talked..and I could barely get him up to leave!
Two women in a waiting area were really excited to see Bodhi and of course loved him as soon as they met him. I think one of the women was so happy interacting with a dog again that she might go out and find a new furry family member to adopt!
#1 Fan
And Bodhi’s #1 fan, Amy, was so glad to see Bodhi today. We always visited her area but we kept missing her and it has been months since we saw her. Bodhi was glad to see her too and leaned into her, gladly giving, and accepting, love and joy.
People instantly recognize how special Bodhi is, and I know how lucky I am to be his mom.
